Deepam an emerging and versatile artist born in 1975, was fond of art right from her childhood days. Nurturing art since then, developed more interest by her mid age and eventually evolved with full-fledged hand. As a reflection of versatility, she experimented with various textures. She began to learn seriously in the later half of her career.

I am obsessed with the relationship of the women with her surroundings. Define the manner in which I relate to the realities of her world. Through drawings, I begin to simplify and clarify what I want to say about the women responsibilities and role in family (nature) in my paintings.

I have always admitted the human figures. I find it extremely interesting and used it as my visual vocabulary.

In these paintings the figure are drawn in a style, which is very indigenous and yet very sophisticated.

Straight and simple but rugged folks are typically characteristic of my paintings.

Figures are the epitome (essence) of Indian tradition and customs. Defines the manner in which I relate to the realities of the rural people and their world. They symbolize the heart of every Indian home.
