Critic Writeup

Critic Writeup By Dr. Zeba Hasan :

Awadhesh Misra is a promising signature of contemporary Indian art. His creativity manifests his full and intense communication with the great soul. His eternal voyage through forms, colors and gradual hues opens up a window where couplets of Kabir, Bulleshah and Amir Khusro exist. His creations are evidences of intense compassion and contemplation as Awadhesh himself mentions that his childhood memory entwined with various emotions and moods impart him tremendous pleasure and maneuvers him towards immense inspiration to work on canvas. In endeavourer of  the above mentioned catharsis Awadhesh has tried to explore his inner-self. His voyage from metaphysical to internal allows him to transform realistic form into abstract ones. His geometrical idioms viz. circles, squares, triangles, hexagon etc. creates a symbolic language which communicates various expressions of external (physiognomic) and internal (psychological) experiences of the artist. His formless expression gradually unveils layers of his subconscious mind and takes the viewer to the mystery world of Awadhesh., sometimes to innocent world of an adolescent age and on the other occasion towards "Panchatattva" (five elements of the universe). Amazingly some of his paintings evoke enchants of an ascetic or enigma of music through the language of formless abstraction. Purple, blue, green, brown, orange colors usually spread fragrance with tonal distinction. The application of cobalt blue and yellow in compositions stimulate the surface ,while treatment of red against green energizes and vibrates the spot. Narrations are embedded with philosophy and expressions are sensuous. Aesthetic pleasure of watching Awadhesh's art work takes one to celestial world and reminds arrangement of tranquility and dynamism of Raza and Picasso respectively. I found his brush strokes very sensitive, rhythmic and at times reminiscent of Van Gough.

Awadhesh's creative skill is not limited with brush but his maturity in writing widens horizons of his creativity. He is full of enthusiasm and abilities. His laurels are commendable in short span of youth. I wish him success for heights in future.......
